Tavia Perea was born on May 18, 2003. She trained at International Gymnastics Centre through the 2015 season. She then moved to Technique Gymnastics in California. She will graduate from high school in 2021.

Tavia competed level four in the fall of 2010. She moved up to level five in 2011. She finished second on beam at the 2012 State Championships. She placed second on beam, fourth on floor and fifth all-around at the 2013 State Championships with new rules. As a level six in 2015, Tavia had success at several invitationals. She won beam at the Lady Luck Invitational and floor at the Roseville Invitational. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the MAC Open. She won beam and the all-around at the Delta Classic. Tavia won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships.

Tavia skipped level seven and competed level eight in 2016. She won vault and beam at the Golden State Classic. She won floor and the all-around at the Vegas Cup. At the Black Tie Invitational, she placed first on vault, bars and the all-around. Tavia placed second on beam and floor at the State Championships. She concluded her season by finished second on vault, beam and the all-around at Regionals. Tavia moved up to level nine in 2017. She placed third all-around and first on vault at the Aloha Gymfest. She placed second all-around at the Vegas Cup. Tavia won vault at the Presidential Classic. She won vault and the all-around at the Deltchev Classic. At the State Championships, she placed first on vault and sixth all-around. Tavia finished first on vault, second on beam, first on floor and sixth all-around at Regionals. She concluded her season by placing second on vault and floor at Westerns.

Tavia moved up to level ten in 2018. She won beam at the Golden State Classic. She placed first on beam and fourth all-around at the San Francisco Classic. She finished third on vault and tenth all-around at the State Championships. She finished twelfth all-around at Regionals.
