Shea Wheeler was born on January 22, 2001. She began her competitive career at Future Flipz. She moved to LaFleur’s Largo in Florida after the fall 2010 season. She will graduate from high school in 2019.
Shea began competing level four in the fall of 2008. She placed second on vault, second on bars, second on floor and third all-around at the 2009 State Championships. She finished in the top ten as a level five at the 2010 State Championships. With her new gym, Shea won vault, beam and the all-around at the 2011 State Championships. She competed as a prep-optional in the spring on 2012, winning vault and floor at the Gasparilla Classic. Shea competed level seven in 2014. She placed first on vault, beam and the all-around at the Daytona Beach Open. She won beam at the Manhattan Classic and Gasparilla Classic. She concluded her season by placing first on beam, second on floor and fifth all-around at the State Championships.
As a level eight in 2015, Shea finished first on vault at both the Atlanta Crown Invitational and Sand Dollar Invitational. She won vault and floor at the IGI Chicago Style. At the LaFleur Invitational, she won beam and floor. Shea placed first on vault, first on floor and second all-around at the State Championships. She finished third on vault and floor at Regionals. Shea moved up to level nine for the 2016 season. She finished first on vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She also placed fourth on vault at the Daytona Beach Open. She did not compete in the championship season. In 2017, Shea started her season by winning beam and floor at the Hilton Head Island Invitational. She won floor at the Atlanta Centennial Classic. At the Daytona Beach Open, she won the all-around title.
