Sophie Knapp was born on August 27, 2008. She trains at Galaxy in New York. She will graduate from high school in 2026.

Sophie began competing as a level three in 2017 with Aeon in New Jersey. She competed at the State Championships. She moved up to level four in 2019 with Galaxy in New York. She competed level six in 2020. She finished second all-around at the Cirque de Galaxy meet. She moved up to level seven in 2021. She won all five gold medals at the Cirque De Galaxy meet. She finished second on floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed fourth on vault, first on beam and third on floor at Regionals. As a level eight in 2022, Sophie placed third all-around at the Magical Classic and second all-around at the Niagara Cup. At the State Championships, she won beam and floor. She placed third all-around. She finished first on bars and second all-around at Regionals.

Sophie moved up to level nine in 2023. She placed fourth all-around at the Saratoga Winterfest and Presidential Classic. She finished second on beam and fifth all-around at the State Championships. She placed third on beam, second on floor and second all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed third on beam, first on floor and seventh all-around.

Sophie began competing level ten in 2024. She qualified to Regionals as a vault, beam and floor specialist.
