Mariah Schlapfer was born on December 11, 2001. She trains at Elite Gymnastics Academy in Salinas, California. She will graduate from high school in 2020.

In the fall of 2008, Mariah competed level four. She placed in the top twenty at the 2009 State Championships. She moved up to level five in 2010. She placed third on vault at both the Zone and State Championships. She moved up to level six for the fall 2011 season. Mariah immediately competed level seven in 2012. She finished second on vault, second on floor and third all-around at the State Championships. Mariah moved up to level eight in 2013. She won vault and floor Golden State Classic. She placed first on vault, bars and the all-around at the Gymnastics in the Wine Country meet. She placed first on floor and the all-around at the Winter Invitational. She won vault and the all-around at the Delta Classic. She finished ninth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals.

Mariah competed level nine during the invitational part of the 2014 season. She finished third on floor at the Golden State Classic and second on floor at the Delta Classic. She missed a few invitationals and the State Championships due to an injury. She returned to level eight for Regionals where she finished in the top ten. In 2015, as a level nine, Mariah placed third on floor at the Golden State Classic. She finished second on floor at both the Spirit of the Flame Challenge and Delta Classic. She finished first on beam at the State Championships. She placed second on beam and seventh all-around at Regionals. Mariah concluded her season with an eighth place finish on beam at Westerns. Mariah finished first on beam at the 2016 Golden State Classic and San Francisco Classic. She placed first on vault at the Roseville Invitational and Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She placed 14th all-around at Regionals. She did not compete in 2017.
