Natalie Payne was born on September 9, 2000. She began gymnastics in California at American Gymnastics Academy. She began her competitive career at ENA until the summer of 2009. She then moved to Dynamic Gymnastics in New York for two years. After the 2011 season, she began training at North Stars. She moved to Orlando Metro for the 2015 season. She moved to Gymnastics USA, formerly Ace, in the fall of 2016. Natalie will graduate from high school in 2018.

During the 2007-2008 season, Natalie competed level four. She placed third all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She moved up to level five for the 2008-2009 season. She won the all-around at the Pumpkin Cup and Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. At the 2009 Classic for the Cure, she won beam and floor. Natalie placed second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She placed fourth on floor at the State Championships. Natalie competed level six during the 2009-2010 season. She finished second all-around at the Balloon Classic. She won beam at the Big Apple Holiday Classic. At the 2010 Team Challenge, she won bars and beam.

Natalie competed level seven in 2011. She placed second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She placed second on bars and beam at the Excalibur Cup. She won bars at the Heartland Spring Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault and beam. She placed second all-around. Natalie competed level eight during the 2011-2012 season. She finished second all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She placed fourth all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed third on beam and second all-around. Natalie finished in the top ten all-around at Regionals. Natalie began competing level nine during the 2012-2013 season. She placed fourth on vault at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She finished third on beam at the Janet Rothenberg Memorial meet. She placed first on beam and second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She did not compete during the championship season. Natalie did not compete in 2014.

Natalie moved up to level ten in 2015. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She placed third all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2016, Natalie finished second all-around at the Magical Classic. She won beam at the City of Lights Invitational. Natalie finished first on beam at the State Championships. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. She competed on three events at JO Nationals.
