Madeline Rose Hanley was born on July 19, 1994. Madeline's parents could have never guessed that she would grow up to be an elite gymnast competing all over the world! Madie lives in Danielsville , PA and started gymnastics when she was just four years old. Madie's older sister, Cassie, competed along side her at the 2008 US National Championships. Madie trains at the infamous Parkettes in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She will graduate from high school in 2012.

In 2004, Madie competed as a level seven. She finished second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She placed sixth all-around at Sectionals. At the State Championships, Madie finished second all-around. She won a silver on beam and a bronze on floor. She moved up to level eight in 2005. At Sectionals, she placed second on floor. Madie placed eighth all-around at States. She moved up to level nine in 2006. She finished second all-around at the Parkette Invitational and Pancott Invitational. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, Madie finished third all-around. She won bars at States. She was also second all-around at States. At Regionals, Madie placed second all-around. She won a bronze on beam. Her final level nine meet was the Eastern Championships. She finished fifteenth all-around! Madie also began to go on the elite path that year. In the summer, Madie competed at the US Challenge as a hopes pre-elite.

In 2007, Madie moved up to level ten. She won the Commonwealth Cup in late 2006 as a level ten. She started off the season right with 5th place finishes in both the Parkette and Breystan Invitationals. At States, she placed 1st on bars, 3rd on vault and 3rd in the All-around. She qualified to regionals where she also placed 3rd in the all-around and snagged 1st place finishes on bars and beam. These great performances led Madie to qualifying to her first JO Nationals. Madie then competed at the American Challenge and National Elite Qualifier, where she placed 7th and 2nd, respectively. Her performance at the qualifier put her in a spot to compete at the US Classic, where she placed in the top 20 and continued on to her first US National Championships. Madie did well on both days of competition and ended up in 21st place, a wonderful start to a hopefully long and successful elite career.

2008 was a great the year for Madie. She placed first at the Friendship Classic and Maryland Classic, and won bars, beam or floor at both. She placed second at the Parkette Invitational in the AA as well as on bars. She also won beam at the competition. At the US Classic, Madie placed 14th and qualified for her second US National Championships! She did well at the 2008 US Junior National Championships and finished 15th.

She opened 2009 by finishing third all-around at the Brestyan's Invitational. She won floor. At the Maryland Classic, she earned silver medals on vault and bars. She finished second all-around at the Parkettes Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She won a silver medal on beam. She finished second in the all-around at the Gymnix International. She had the highest floor score in qualification. She also qualified to bar and beam finals. Madie competed at the American Classic in April. She is now preparing for the US Classic.
