Amira Ali was born on February 10, 1999. Her older sister, Riahanah is also a gymnast. Amira trained at Michigan Academy of Gymnastics through the 2010 season. She then moved to Oakland. She will graduate from high school in 2017.

In 2007, Amira competed level four. She moved up to level five in 2008. She competed level six in 2009. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. She finished third all-around at the Fall State Championships. In 2010, Amira finished fourth all-around at the Motown Madness Meet. At the State Championships, Amira finished fifth all-around. Amira competed level seven in 2011. She won vault at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She finished fourth all-around at the Circle of Stars meet. Amira finished fifth all-around at the State Championships.

Amira began competing level eight in 2012. She placed second on vault at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. Amira again finished second on vault at the Circle of Stars meet. She won vault at the Luau in Leos Invite. At the State Championships, she finished tenth all-around. Amira finished eighth all-around at Regionals. In 2013, Amira won vault and bars at the Circle of Stars meet. She won vault at the Oakland Classic. She placed first on vault and second all-around at the Athlete Warrior Challenge. At the Magical Classic, she finished third all-around. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Luau in Leos Invite. She finished first on vault, bars and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed fifth all-around at Regionals. Amira won vault and placed second all-around at the 2014 Twistars Invitational. She won vault and the all-around at the Battle of Champions. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Oakland Classic. She won vault and the all-around at the WOGA Classic. Amira placed first on vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Luau in Leos meet. She placed first on vault and third all-around at the State Championships. She won vault and the all-around at Regionals. Amira was undefeated on vault the entire 2014 season.

Amira moved up to level nine for the 2014-2015 season. She finished first on vault and second all-around at the Christmas Classic. She placed third all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She won vault, beam and the all-around at the Oakland Classic. Amira won vault, bars and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She finished first on vault and second all-around at the AOGC Invitational. Amira won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Luau in Leos. She finished first on vault and fifth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first on vault and second all-around. She placed first on vault and seventh all-around at Easterns.

Amira began competing level ten in 2016. She finished fourth on beam at the Twistars Invitational. She placed third on vault at the Oakland Classic. She finished second on vault at the Athlete Warrior Challenge and Luau in Leos meet. Amira placed third on vault and beam at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, Amira placed fourth on vault. She finished fourth on vault and beam at Regionals.
